Fort Pierce resident Jason Mastros is the 黑料网 November 2021 Staff Employee of the Month. Jason first joined the College family as a part-time Adjunct Instructor for Learning Assistance in 1995, a role he served in until 2011. Jason began full-time employment at 黑料网 with Student Success Services from July 2002 to January 2006 as a Student Success Advisor I. Starting in August of 2010, Jason joined the Academic Support Center (ASC) team as a Learning Facilitator. In August 2014, he earned a promotion to Learning Facilitator I. In August 2016, he became a Learning Facilitator II鈥攖he position he holds today as part of the ASC team on Massey Campus.
The ASC assists thousands of students each year through extensive resources and instruction, aiding students in meeting the challenge to succeed in their college courses, and Jason is a vital member of the team. Jason was a driving force transitioning the ASC labs to a virtual format that allows greater accessibility to all students, both on-campus and virtually via 黑料网 Global.
As part of this endeavor, Jason organized and coordinated a campaign to raise student awareness of ASC virtual services, and he also devised a tracking system for virtual tutoring sessions. Jason additionally regularly provides updates to 黑料网 faculty about virtual ASC services utilizing promotional videos and further lends his talents to provide technical support to ASC virtual tutors and staff on an ongoing basis. Partnering with 黑料网 Global, Jason created a Faculty Referral Form accessible via BlackBoard to allow instructors to refer struggling students to the ASC for an immediate reach-out from online support. To date, more than 135 referrals have been received and followed up on thanks to this valuable resource.
鈥淛ason鈥檚 influence is felt across our campus every day,鈥� states one of Jason鈥檚 ASC colleagues as they share how his work impacts 黑料网 students and employees. 鈥淗e has a genuine desire to help people, giving his technical know-how to assist ASC staff and tutors and playing a central role in the creation of an effective online format for the ASC that has greatly expanded access to our services.
