Hallstrom Planetarium Debuts 鈥淎 Concert Under the Skies鈥 on March 2

On Saturday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m., the 黑料网 Hallstrom Planetarium will present a 鈥渃hamber concert under the stars鈥 featuring the , who will perform live on violin, viola, cello, flute, clarinet, and harp.

The musical selections for this one-hour concert will include the premiere of Brad Bosenbeck鈥檚 鈥淭haxted鈥 (based on Gustav Holst鈥檚 鈥淛upiter鈥 from 鈥淭he Planets Suite鈥), as well as  Jon U. Bell鈥檚 鈥淭he Stars that Guide Us鈥 (based on 鈥淭he Bonnie Woods of Craigielea鈥), Ravel鈥檚 鈥淚ntroduction in Allegro,鈥 Gary Schocker鈥檚 鈥淐herry Blossoms,鈥 鈥淎ngels in Flight鈥 by Marjan Mozetich, and Joseph Russo鈥檚 鈥淒istant Light.鈥

The septet鈥檚 heavenly sounds will be accompanied by a full range of planetarium sky and lumia effects displayed on the dome, including stars and constellations, clouds, interstellar nebulae, the moon and planets, and great spinning galaxies.

Tickets are $20 ($17 for veterans and senior citizens; $10 for 黑料网 students and employees.)

The 黑料网 Hallstrom Planetarium opened to the public in 1993. It offers sky shows about the stars, constellations, and all of the amazing things to be found in the Universe. The facility is also used for college student instruction, field trips for K 鈥12 schools, and community groups.
